Welcome.  All students enter at this level and this module may be considered sufficient for home use.  Massage its principles and benefits, together with the use of essential oils, is taught for general health conditions such as stress, headaches, skin and muscular problems, breathing difficulties etc.  The properties and effects of the most popular essential oils and the history of aromatherapy are covered, together with the philosophy of holistic healing.  Essential oils undoubtedly have powerful physiological effects on the human body and this module emphasises the equally powerful influence aromatherapy can have on the spiritual, mental aspects of clients wellbeing.

Students who have a massage qualification would generally expect to skip this module and cover the introductory non massage points by self directed study.  However aromatherapy massage is somewhat differant to more deeper tissue massage so qualified massage therapists can nonetheless benefit by attending this module.
